In this video I explain 4844/protodanksharding, full danksharding, and EigenDA.
I start by explaining what Data Availability is, and why it’s integral to Ethereum’s L2 scaling vision. Then I explain how 4844/protodanksharding works, and how it allows for a total ~200 TPS of Ethereum L2s. Next I explain full danksharding and how we can shard the DA data as long as we have efficient Data Availability Sampling — which requires erasure coding. Finally I explain EigenDA and how it achieves horizontal scaling and can ultimately provide 1 GB/s of DA throughput which implies a maximum L2 scaling of 43M TPS.
